Raichle sporting goods

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Raichle (1999 to 2003: Raichle Boots AG; 2003 to 2005 RAIBO Sportartikel AG) was a Swiss manufacturer of hiking and winter sports shoes. Today the brand name belongs to the Mammut Sports Group AG .

The company was founded in Kreuzlingen in 1909 by Louis Raichle . The company produced the first hiking boots in 1924, the first buckle ski boots worldwide in 1963, the first snowboard hard boots in 1986 and the first soft boots in 1988. Raichle also produced military shoes for the Swiss army for years . Despite the success, the commercial side was neglected, the growing competition and costs underestimated, and so in 1995 the first takeover by Kneissl & Friends GmbH came.

The location of Raichle Switzerland was moved from Kreuzlingen to Frauenfeld in 2001 and a technology center was opened. The company should also focus entirely on the outdoor footwear segment . In 2003 Raichle was taken over by Mammut. RAIBO Sportartikel AG was liquidated in 2005. The name Raichle was given up in spring 2009 in favor of a uniform brand identity, the products are sold under the name Mammut.
