Railways Act 2005

The Railways Act 2005 is a law that was created in 2005 under the British Prime Minister Tony Blair to improve safety standards in rail transport in Great Britain .

With the entry into force of the Railways Act 2005, numerous organizational changes were made to the British railways with the aim of helping to improve the safety and quality standards in rail transport. Among other things, the Strategic Rail Authority was dissolved and its tasks transferred to the rail transport department of the Ministry of Transport.

In addition, a uniform interest group for rail users called Passenger Focus was set up.
