The Rainbow Bridge (German Rainbow Bridge , officially Highbridge ) is a pedestrian bridge over the River Cherwell in the University Parks in Oxford , United Kingdom . The arch bridge was built in 1923 by the University of Oxford and funded by various colleges of the university and private donors. It connects University Parks with New Marston in the northeast of the city.
