Rainer Kräuter (born May 21, 1964 in Rudolstadt ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ) and former member of the state parliament in Thuringia.

Life

Rainer Kräuter completed an apprenticeship at the Schwarza man-made fiber combine and then served with the GDR border troops. After completing a degree at the “Dr. Kurt Fischer ”in Wolfen he was appointed lieutenant in the German People's Police . After the fall of the Berlin Wall he stayed in the police force, initially on patrol and individual duty, then from 1995 on with the criminal police in Saalfeld . He is involved in the police union and was chairman of the staff council of the state police station in Saalfeld from 2010 to 2014.

politics

Herbs joined the party Die Linke in 2014. In the state elections in Thuringia in 2014 , he won a mandate on the state list. Herbs was a member of the home committee. In addition, he was chairman of the Die Linke faction in the investigation committee 6/2 "Immelborn files storage". As a spokesman, he represented trade union politics and maintained contacts with over 70 individual trade unions, specialist and umbrella organizations in the Free State of Thuringia. He lost his mandate in the state elections in Thuringia in 2019 .

From 2015 to 2020 he was district chairman of the district association Saalfeld-Rudolstadt of his party.
