Rainer Rückert

Rainer Rückert (born June 7, 1931 in Neisse , Upper Silesia Province ) is a German art historian .

Rainer Rückert attended the humanistic grammar school in Wiesbaden from 1941 to 1951 . He then studied art history and archeology at the University of Frankfurt from the summer semester of 1951 . There he received his doctorate in 1956 with Harald Keller . He then worked at the Museum of Art and Industry in Hamburg . From 1960 until his retirement in 1993 he worked as a curator at the Bavarian National Museum in Munich, where he was responsible for ceramics and glass.

In particular, he published on the history of Meissen porcelain . He was also responsible for the museum concept for the exhibition of the Meissen porcelain collection, Ernst Schneider Foundation, which opened in 1971 in Lustheim Palace .
