Ralf-Rüdiger Targiel

Ralf-Rüdiger Targiel (* 1953 in Blankenfelde-Mahlow ) is a German archivist and author.

Ralf-Rüdiger Targiel studied in Berlin and became a qualified archivist. In September 1975 he began working at the Frankfurt (Oder) city archive under the direction of Elfriede Schirrmacher . After they passed a year later, Targiel took over the management of the archive. He organized the relocation of the house from today's city library to Collegienstraße 8/9. In its more than forty years of activity, the archive's holdings have more than doubled. Among other things, he organized exhibitions on the 500th birthday of Ulrich von Hutten , on the city's Jewish history and on the Viadrina . Targiel was appointed chief archivist . At the beginning of 2019, he handed over the management of the archive to the historian and archivist Denny Becker.
