Ralf Wienand

Ralf Wienand (born March 7, 1963 in Wuppertal ) is a former German canoeist . He was multiple German champion and was a world championship and Olympic participant.

Sports career

During his active time, Wienand belonged to the Wuppertal Canoe Club and started for the Canoe Sports Association Wuppertal . He took part in the two-man canoe with Wolfram Faust at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles , where he achieved 5th place. In 1987 he ended his sports career. He then worked as a junior trainer in the canoe department of the Wuppertal-Ost railway sports club.

Private

After his career, he studied electrical engineering at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal . He works as an engineer for the Wuppertal municipal utilities . There he was u. a. as project manager for the now selected projects of automation of the Wuppertal monorail responsible. Ralf Wienand is married and has three children. He lives in Wuppertal.
