Ralph Douglas Stacey (born September 10, 1942 in Johannesburg ) is a British organizational theorist and professor of management at the Hertfordshire Business School of the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom and one of the pioneers in researching the implications of the natural sciences for understanding human organizations and complexity its management. He is best known for his writings on the theory of organizations as complex, responsive systems.
