The Rannikkojääkärit ( Finnish : coastal hunters ) are a special unit of the Finnish Navy . It is subordinate to the Swedish-speaking Uusimaa Brigade and was set up in 1960. The Rannikkojääkärit wear dark green berets . As in other associations of this type, the Rannikkojääkärit are particularly physically challenged during training. The training is initially carried out in the classic way with a basic course as in any Finnish unit. Then there is an eight-week selection period. Finally, the soldiers are trained according to their specialization. The training of your specialization takes between 180 and 347 days. In contrast to other units, the language of instruction is Swedish , but the command language is Finnish .
