The Rassemblement des Houphouétistes pour la Démocratie et la Paix (French for collection of the Houphouëtists for democracy and peace ) or RHDP for short is an Ivorian party coalition.

The name of the RHDP refers to Félix Houphouët-Boigny , the first president of the Ivory Coast.

history

It was founded on May 18, 2005, originally for the presidential election in October 2005, and consists of the Rassemblement des Républicains (RDR), Parti Démocratique de Côte d'Ivoire (PDCI), Union pour la Démocratie et la Paix en Côte d'Ivoire (UDPCI) and Mouvement des Forces de l'Avenir (MFA). However, the date of the election was repeatedly postponed until it finally took place as the 2010 presidential election .

On December 26, 2010, the RHDP called a general strike for the next day in the wake of the 2010/2011 government crisis . Only in Bouaké did people stop working on December 27th.

Electoral successes

In the 2016 parliamentary election , the ruling coalition emerged victorious and gained additional seats in the National Assembly .
