The house Rathausplatz 16 ( Estonian Elamu Raekoja plats 16 ) is a listed building in the Estonian capital Tallinn ( German  Reval ).

It is located in the historic old town of Reval on the east side of the Town Hall Square (Estonian Raekoja plats ). To the north is the also listed building at Rathausplatz 15 , to the south by Rathausplatz 17 .

Architecture and history

The four-storey building probably goes back to the 15th century. There is a loading hatch above the fourth floor . At the beginning of the 19th century the house was rebuilt, although the three or two-axis facade design remained largely unchanged. The internal structure of the building was changed several times. Another renovation of the interior took place in 1979 by the architect R. Laur.

The property stretches on the back to Russstrasse ( Vene tänav ). There was originally an archway there.

The building was registered as a monument on April 15, 1997 and is registered under number 3068 in the Estonian Register of Monuments .

Part of the building is used for gastronomy.
