The house Rathausplatz 17 ( Estonian Elamu Raekoja plats 17 ) is a listed building in the Estonian capital Tallinn ( German  Reval ).

It is located in the historic old town of Reval on the east side of the Town Hall Square (Estonian Raekoja plats). To the north is the also listed building Rathausplatz 16 , to the south the Höppner-Haus , and a little to the south-west is the Tallinn Town Hall .

Architecture and history

The three-storey building was built in the 18th century in the style of early classicism . It emerged from two buildings for which a first documentary mention from 1431 has come down to us. These buildings were converted in the Renaissance style in the 16th century.

The interior of the current building was rebuilt in the 1980s by the architect I. Fjuk.

The building was registered as a monument on April 15, 1997 and is registered under number 3069 in the Estonian Register of Monuments .

Part of the building is used for gastronomy.
