Rough sentence

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Rauhsatz (also Rausatz) is a variant of the mostly left-justified fluttering phrase . It describes a sentence technique with a firmly defined flutter zone, so that the length of the lines fluctuates less than with the flutter replacement.

The lines of different lengths are adjusted by manual or automatic word division at the end of the line, whereby unsightly or incorrectly spelled word separations can occur with automatic word division in word processing software.

The common advantage of rough sentence and flutter sentence is the even spacing between words, which contrasts positively with justified sentences .
