Center axis set

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Center axis set

With the center axis set ( axial , centered or symmetrical set), the text lines are cut centered on the center (centered / axial line drop ). This is done by an imaginary vertical line through the column. The text is the same length both to the left and to the right of this line.

application

The axial arrangement of the text forces a certain reading rhythm and emphasizes individual parts of the sentence. Therefore, the central axis theorem is often used in poems. It is often used in other short texts (thanks, birth announcements, advertisements, certificates).

It is a highly structured element for headings and is suitable for the more basic structure, such as title pages .

Axial typesetting is not suitable for large amounts of text, since a quick and undisturbed reading flow is not possible.
