Line fall
A line case is the sentence pattern of lines standing one below the other. Depending on the type of sentence , different things need to be considered:
- In the case of flutter substitution (also: open line case ), one pays attention to a clear contrast between short and long lines. In addition to the harmonious overall picture, the text logic must also be taken into account: If possible, parts of sentences that belong together should not be torn apart, but individual lines that are too short or too long should be avoided.
- Center axis set ( centered / axial line case ) is a special form of the flutter set
- With justified or closed lines , on the other hand, you have a clear right edge without fluttering. Corresponding word separations and equalization of the spaces between words ( driving out ) should prevent holes or even alleys formations in the text flag .
The aim in both cases is a harmonious overall picture with a uniform gray effect , i.e. H. homogeneous optical density without bright holes or alleys in the text.
