Rayen is a village in the town of Neukirchen-Vluyn in the Wesel district in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1935 Rayen was an independent municipality in what was then the district of Moers .

Rayen is about five kilometers north of Vluyn around the Rayener Berg . The former municipality of Rayen had an area of 4.46 km².
history
Rayen formed a rural community in the mayor's office of Rheurdt (from 1928 Amt Rheurdt ) since the 19th century . This belonged to the Geldern district until 1857 and to the Moers district since 1857. On July 1, 1935, Rayen was incorporated into Neukirchen-Vluyn.

Architectural monuments
The Rayener John's Church, the mill Rayener Mountain, the two old school buildings Eyller Road 42 and Road 343 Geldernsche and courtyards on Honigshuck 34 and 16 are mountain trail in Rayen under monument protection .
Culture
One of the bearers of local customs is the St. Martini-Schützenbruderschaft Eyll / Rayen from 1654 .
Sports
The local sports club is SuS Rayen 1945 .
