Reaction arrow

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The reaction arrow is a symbol from chemistry and is used for reaction equations. It has a similar function to the arrow in mathematics and is just as unsymmetrical ; the two sides must not be swapped. The reaction arrow points from the starting materials to the products :

Educt reacts to product

Two arrows are used for reactions that can also take place in the opposite direction but are not in equilibrium .

The product can also be the starting material for the reverse reaction .

There are other arrows in reaction equations .
