Real Lexicon of Prehistory

The Real Lexicon of Prehistory is a prehistoric reference work published by Max Ebert (1879–1929) "with the participation of numerous specialist scholars" , which was published in Berlin by Walter de Gruyter in 1924–1932. It comprises 15 volumes (in 16) with a total of approx. 6,500 pages. It contains numerous (approx. 2,000) panels. The alphabetically structured work is thematically broad and is considered the standard work of its subject. Volume 4 was published in two halves as a double volume, volume 15 contains the index.
