Max Ebert
Max Ebert (born August 4, 1879 in Stendal , † November 15, 1929 in Berlin ) was a German prehistorian .
Ebert studied German and history in Innsbruck, Heidelberg, Halle and Berlin.
From 1906 to 1914 he worked as a research assistant at the prehistory department of the Berlin museums . In 1918 he received his habilitation in Königsberg. From 1922 to 1924 he was professor of prehistory in Königsberg and at the same time at the University of Riga . From 1927 to 1929 he was Professor of Prehistory and Protohistory at the University of Berlin .
Ebert's publications deal mainly with prehistoric cultures in the Baltic countries and southern Russia, where he also took part in excavations. He was editor of the Reallexikon der Prehistory , which appeared in fifteen volumes from 1924 to 1932.
He was a member of the Rhenopalatia Heidelberg gymnastics club ( VC , today in the CC ).
