Tomasz Piątek (born March 16, 1974 in Pruszków ) is a Polish prose writer and publicist .

Life

Piatęk attended high school in Warsaw and graduated from high school in 1993. Even as a schoolboy, he hosted the television program Drops. After graduating from high school, he studied linguistics at the University of Milan , where he obtained his master's degree in 1998 . He also worked as a translator in court and in prison, as an assistant director at the station RAI , published in the newspapers La Stampa and L'Independente and was a correspondent for Polityka and the radio station RMF FM from 1996 to 1997 . During this time his alcoholism and heroin addiction increased and he went on several withdrawal therapies. He addressed these experiences in his later novels. He returned to Warsaw and worked with several radio stations and the Canal Plus television channel . From 1999 to 2010 he worked as a copywriter for various advertising agencies. In addition, he published articles and feature sections in newspapers such as Gazeta Wyborcza , Nowa Fantastyka , Film , Dekada Literacka , Polityka and Lampa . In 2003 he began to work for the development of the television station Kino Polska and became its literary director.

He lives in Warsaw.
