The company was founded in 1994 in Walldorf by former SAP employees Rainer Schmidt, Peter Stier, Daniele Di Croce and Markus Adam. Further companies were founded by 1998, including a. in the USA, Italy, Australia and New Zealand. REALTECH has been cooperating with SAP in support and development projects since 1994 .

In 1999 Realtech AG went public in the Neuer Markt segment and was part of its NEMAX 50 selection index from July 1, 1999 to March 20, 2000. Also in 1999 branches were opened in Ratingen, Munich and Hamburg.

In 2015 Realtech Deutschland GmbH was created through the merger of the companies Realtech Consulting GmbH, Realtech Software Products GmbH and Realtech Services GmbH. In terms of content, the company focused on the subject of Enterprise Service Management as part of the reorganization.

In 2016, a study by the independent research and consulting institute Research in Action sees Realtech in fourth place among German providers of solutions for IT and enterprise service management.
In 2018, the German subsidiaries were merged with Realtech AG to simplify internal structures.
