Recce

Recce (pronounced: rekkie ) is a colloquial short form of the English word reconnaissance and actually means " military reconnaissance ". The term is also used in the film industry and in rallying.

Use of the term

military

In military parlance, the term Recce is used for all measures and means that serve the purpose of reconnaissance, e.g. B. Recce Pod for a reconnaissance container .

Film and media

In the film and media industry, it refers to finding and visiting a location for the purpose of preparing an event, for filming or taking photos (new German photo shoot ) in order to adapt it to its infrastructural conditions (e.g. light and sound conditions or power supply) to investigate.

The term is used internationally by location scouts . It was originally used in the British film and media industry, while the American term tech scout (short for technical scouting ) also exists .

Rallying

In rally sport , this means the exploration of the route before the event and the creation of notes (colloquially " prayer book ").
