Receptaculum

The term receptacle or receptacle is used in the following contexts:

  • Part of the fruiting body of rod fungi, see Receptaculum (Mycology)
  • Alternative name for the flower axis , especially when it is compressed to a flower base
  • In zoology as Receptaculum seminis for a seed bag
  • In ferns for a section of the leaf that carries the sporangia
