The Red Sea Environmental Center (RSEC) is a science and environmental institution on the Red Sea that promotes marine science , marine biology and nature conservation .

history

The RSEC was founded in 2002 under the name Sinai Environmental Center and has been an association registered in Austria since July 2005 . In 2007 the RSEC was incorporated into the newly founded marine protection organization mare-mundi.eu . In Egypt , the RSEC works as an independent part of the most important Egyptian environmental organization HEPCA .
The first station has been operating in Dahab, on the southern Sinai coast , since 2006 . The second station has been working in El-Quseir on the Egyptian mainland since spring 2008.
