Reeuwijkse Plassen
The Reeuwijkse Plassen ( German Reeuwijker Seen ) is a lake landscape near Gouda , east of the village of Reeuwijk .

The closely spaced lakes are only separated from each other by dams. They were created through peat extraction in the 18th century, which reached below the groundwater level in the former moors . The total area is 735 hectares. Today the lakes are used as a recreation area and for water sports. In the middle of the area is the street village Sluipwijk .
