Selva Reformed Church

The Reformed Church Selva is a church building in Maiensäss Selva , municipality of Poschiavo , Switzerland .

history

Poschiavo is traditionally characterized by parity , whereby the Reformed have always been a minority, but formed the upper class for centuries. This is why the Maiensässsieldung Selva belonging to Poschiavo has both a Catholic ( San Sebastiano e Sinforosa ) and a Reformed church. Both sacred buildings were erected in the 17th century on a small range of hills above Selva.

The reformed baroque building erected in 1676 is plastered white and has an open roof turret with a bell. The simple, polygonal interior has a rectangular pulpit and stalls from the construction period.
