The Reformu partija ( German  reform party ), until April 21, 2012 Zatlera reformu partija (Zatler's reform party), was a political party in Latvia .

history

The party was founded by Valdis Zatlers shortly after the end of his term as President of Latvia. The founding congress took place on July 23, 2011, the day of a referendum initiated by himself on the dissolution of parliament . Zatlers, who was elected party chairman with 251 to 2 votes, had already announced on July 9th that under no circumstances would his party work with the three so-called oligarchic parties ZZS , LPP / LC and Tautas partija . Cooperation with the Russian Saskaņas Centrs is only possible if this party recognizes the occupation of Latvia by the Soviet Union as a historical fact.

The party received 20.78% of the vote in the election for the 11th Saeima and became the second strongest party. However, on October 16, one day before the meeting of parliament, 6 ZRP members formed their own parliamentary group.

Due to low ratings, it was decided on December 27, 2013 to run the 2014 parliamentary elections together with the Vienotība party on a list . A large part of the party members switched to Vienotība in 2014.
