Advanced Energy is an American manufacturer of power supplies for the deposition of thin films. The largest customer is Applied Materials .

At the end of 2015, the company withdrew from the production of solar inverters . Advanced Energy will continue to exist in Neuhausen as a service company under the name AEI Power GmbH.

Refusol

In April 2013, Advanced Energy took over the German inverter manufacturer Refusol.

The REFUsol GmbH was a manufacturer of solar inverters based in the Baden-Württemberg Metzingen . The company was founded in 1965 as Refu Elektronik and specialized in the production of three-phase drive systems. In 2010 the company REFUsol GmbH was spun off from Refu Elektronik GmbH. The last consolidated financial statements as RefuSol Holding GmbH 2012 showed sales revenue of 161 million euros.

The production took place partly by Refu Elektronik GmbH and partly in Hungary (Prettl factory).

Most of the workers were laid off by the end of 2015. The remaining employees remained at the Neuhausen location as a service company under the name AEI Power GmbH, which continues to provide product service and support for the inverters formerly produced by Refusol and Advanced Energy.
