Regal Records was an American record label from the 1920s and 1930s.
history
Regal was founded in 1921 and released Masters on Emerson Records . Most records were sold in department stores for 50 US cents. Well-known musicians whose recordings were published on Regal included Fletcher Henderson , Eubie Blake , Original Memphis Five , Cab Calloway and Duke Ellington . Shortly after it was founded, in August 1922, Regal was taken over by the Scranton Button Company .
Scranton merged in 1929 with other record companies to form the American Record Corporation , and Regal Records became part of this group. Notable releases have included singles by Jack and Irving Kaufman , Billy Murray , Roy Smeck , Rex Cole's Mountaineers , Carson Robison and Frank Luther . In 1931, Regal Records was discontinued by ARC.
