Government statement

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A government declaration is an explanation of political actions, plans and intentions of a government in relation to a specific occasion or, upon assuming office, to the entire legislative period . It is submitted by the head of government or a minister to parliament .

In Germany , at the beginning of his term of office , the Federal Chancellor issues a government statement to the Bundestag , in which the intended policy of the government during the legislative period is presented to the parliament. It has no legal obligation, but it does have an important political obligation for parliament and government. During the legislative period, the Federal Government can, of its own accord, submit statements to parliament through the Federal Chancellor or Minister on current political issues. However, the Bundestag cannot oblige them to make statements. The same applies to the state parliaments .
