Regional exchange
The regional stock exchanges in Germany are the long-established stock exchanges that exist alongside the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (FWB) (including the electronic trading platform XETRA ).
backgrounds
In Germany, the regional exchanges are:
- Berlin Stock Exchange
- Düsseldorf Stock Exchange
- BÖAG stock exchanges Hamburg - Hanover . Joint sponsor of the Lower Saxony Stock Exchange Hanover and the Hanseatic Stock Exchange (branch of the Hamburg Stock Exchange ).
- Munich Stock Exchange
- Stuttgart Stock Exchange
The Bremen Stock Exchange also existed until 2007 .
Since the majority of securities transactions in Germany are now processed via the XETRA electronic trading platform, the importance of the regional stock exchanges has declined significantly compared to previous years. However, some companies with low stock exchange turnover are still only listed on regional stock exchanges, for example various local breweries on the Munich Stock Exchange and numerous open market stocks . In addition, the Stuttgart Stock Exchange has a special position due to its high market share in derivatives trading and parts of the bond market .
