Regletten denote those parts of the dummy material in lead type that are used to adjust the line spacing between the individual lines.

The different sizes depend on the font size . There are Reglettes in strengths 1  p to 20 p and in lengths 8, 12, 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24  Cicero . On request, the type foundries also produced longer Reglettes.

Just like the rest of the blank material , reglettes have a lower height (54 p) compared to the parts to be printed ( 62 23  p normal height). Reglettes can be made of the same metal alloy as the letter metal , but there are also variants with different material compositions, for example made of aluminum, plastic and wood.
