from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reiner Lauterbach (* 1954 ) is a German university professor for mathematics at the University of Hamburg and a member of the Academy of Sciences in Hamburg (2008).

He received his doctorate in 1982 at the University of Würzburg under Hansjörg Kielhöfer ( branching in the event of a loss of stability due to several eigenvalues ). Before his appointment to Hamburg, he was at the University of Augsburg (Habilitation December 1988) and at the Weierstrass Institute in Berlin.

Lauterbach deals, among other things, with the theory of bifurcations and qualitative theory of dynamic systems.

He is a member of the Academy of Sciences in Hamburg .
