Pure Osbild

Reiner Osbild (born August 26, 1962 ) is a German AfD politician, economist and university professor.

Osbild studied economics in Paris and Trier from 1982 to 1988. In 1993 he was charged with a thesis on "Government intervention in the labor market" doctorate . He initially worked in various major banks, including WestLB and Sal. Oppenheim, and was a lecturer and independent financial advisor. In 2010 he took up a one-year visiting professorship in Dalian (China). From 2012 to 2015 he was Professor of Economics at the SRH University of Heidelberg . Osbild has been Professor of Economics at Emden / Leer University since 2015 . He was repeatedly interviewed by national media and as a guest on podiums on economic issues.

Osbild has been a member of the AfD since 2016 and has been a member of the board of the Ostfriesland district association since April 2017, as chairman since August. Osbild has been a member of the board of trustees of the AfD-affiliated Desiderius Erasmus Foundation since 2018 .

In July 2018, Osbild and his AfD district board of East Friesland were deposed by the AfD state board of Lower Saxony. The state executive accused him, among other things, of "illegal payments of party assets". Osbild has denied these allegations. Since August 2018 he has been chairman of the Ostfriesland district association again.
