Reinhard Emanuel Battier

Reinhard Emanuel Battier (* 1744 ; † after 1762) was a Swiss sculptor .

Reinhard Emanuel Battier, son of the Basel mathematician, physicist and doctor Reinhard Battier (1724–1779) and his wife Ester Magdalena Ernst from Bern, completed an apprenticeship as a sculptor and worked as a journeyman in Strasbourg in 1762. At that time, at the request of a relative in 1762, he was granted Basel citizenship free of charge, which he had lost due to his father's long absence abroad. He later lived in Paris .
