Reinhard Jany

Reinhard Jany (born January 5, 1956 in Unterschützen ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. Jany was a member of the Federal Council from 2005 to 2010 and was a member of the Burgenland State Parliament from 2010 to 2015 .

After primary and secondary school, Jany attended a business school and then an agricultural school, which he graduated as an agricultural master. Jany also did military service in 1975. Jany worked as an office worker and farmer from 1975 to 2002; since 2002 he has only been active as a farmer.

In the political field, Jany began his career in 2002 as a member of the Oberschützen municipal council , where he took over the office of vice mayor in November 2005 and is responsible for agriculture and fire services. He is also deputy district party chairman of the ÖVP Oberwart, since 2002 a councilor of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture and since 2002 chairman of the Burgenland Simmental Breeding Association. Jany represented the ÖVP in the Federal Council between October 25, 2005 and June 23, 2010 and had been a member of the Burgenland Landtag since June 24, 2010. Jany is chairman of the agricultural committee and ÖVP agriculture spokesman.
