Cavalry Brigade

The Brigade Reiter was a German Cavalry - Brigade in the Second World War .

The brigade was set up on December 7, 1939 at the Königsbrück military training area. It was used as part of the western campaign in the Netherlands and France . The names of the brigade changed several times. From March 1, 1940, the brigade was only referred to as the Reiter Brigade . From June 6, 1940, the unit was designated as the Mixed Rapid Brigade Senger and from April 2, 1941 as Reiter-Brigade 1 . The subordination of the unit changed several times. The brigade operated partly as an independent large association, partly as part of a division. On December 2, 1941, the unit was expanded to the 24th Rifle Brigade and renamed.
