ICD-10 online (WHO version 2019)

As saddle anesthesia decreased sensitivity (is hypesthesia to anesthesia ) indicates, the extent of the typical patches of a breeches corresponds. Numbness includes the genitals , the area around the anus, and the inner thighs. The spinal nerve roots S3-S5 corresponding to these dermatomes are therefore damaged.

Acute breeches anesthesia is associated with a low paraplegic syndrome at the end of the spinal cord , i.e. cauda equina syndrome , and requires immediate medical treatment. Frequently, a combination of urinary or fecal incontinence and impotence as well as a failed anal reflex occur as further failure symptoms.
