The 23rd Saxony Tour took place from July 25th to 29th, 2007. As in the previous year, the start and finish was Dresden . Overall winner was the Dutchman Joost Posthuma from Team Rabobank .
The following teams took part in the tour :
- 6 UCI ProTour teams: Team Astana , Team CSC , Rabobank , Team Gerolsteiner , Team Milram and T-Mobile Team
- 3 Professional Continental Teams : Chocolade Jacques , Team Volksbank and Team Wiesenhof-Felt
- 7 Continental teams : Thuringian Energy Team , Team Heinz von Heiden , Team 3C-Gruppe Lamonta , Team Notebooksbilliger.de , Team Regiostrom-Senges , Team Sparkasse and the national team Germany.

The first stage led from the state capital Dresden to Delitzsch . For a long time it was shaped by a four-man breakaway group, but ultimately decided in the mass sprint , which André Greipel from T-Mobile Team won.
On the following day, Greipel was able to record his next day's success on the 2nd stage . Initially, a breakaway group of three drivers dominated the event again, but was set up by the sprinter teams on the circuit in Auerbach .
The 3rd section , the queen stage of this year's tour with a total of five mountain classifications, was won by Eric Baumann in the sprint - already the third victory for T-Mobile. He belonged to a group of 29 drivers who had a lead of over 25 minutes on the peloton at the finish.
The 37-kilometer individual time trial of the 4th stage was won by Dutch rider Joost Posthuma . In adverse weather conditions with numerous rain showers, no other driver was able to dispute Posthuma for the victory, so that he also took over the yellow jersey of the overall leader.
The 5th and last stage , which led again into the Ore Mountains , was decided in the end by Stephan Schreck from a group of four escapees in Dresden. However, this no longer had any effect on the overall standings, in which Joost Posthuma successfully defended the yellow jersey.
