Eric Baumann

Eric Baumann (born March 21, 1980 in Rostock ) is a former German racing cyclist . He was considered a sprint specialist.

Career

After Baumann won the U23 versions of Paris-Roubaix and the German championships as well as the silver medal of the European road championships, he joined the Wiesenhof team in 2003 , for which he won a stage at the Course de la Solidarité Olympique .

From 2004 to 2007 he drove for the T-Mobile team . For this team, a 2005 won a stage of the Tour of Luxembourg and in the same year finished his only Grand Tour with the Giro d'Italia in 128th place. In 2007 he won a stage and the sprint classification of the Saxony Tour .

From 2008 to 2011 he drove for German UCI Continental Teams and UCI Professional Continental Teams , the Nutrixxion Sparkasse team and the NetApp team . During this time he won various races on the UCI Europe Tour , most recently the one-day race around Nuremberg's old town . After he did not get a contract from any international cycling team , he ended his international career at the end of the 2011 season and began commercial training.
