Reclination

Reclination (from Latin reclinare , 'to lean back' ) is a medical term. He describes

  • in medicine generally backward leaning z. B. the head or the upper body
  • Backward bending in orthopedics and backward bending in reclination treatment.

Reclination of the upper body (movement)

The upper body leans forward and backward mainly in the lumbar spine . This is related to the position of the articular surfaces of the vertebral joints. The opposite movement is called inclination . Other movements of the upper body are lateral flexion and rotation .
