Reconciliation

The Rekonziliation (from lat. Reconciliatio : "Recovery, reconciliation") is a term from the Catholic Church right with two similar meanings: Firstly, the Wiederheiligung a defiled Church by a new ordination , on the other hand the lifting of excommunication and recovery of the person concerned in the sacramental communion of the church.

In the early Christian communities, it was customary to exclude sinners from the congregation and from attending worship. Certain penances were imposed on them before they were re-accepted into the community after a certain period of time.
