Life
Jan Silberstorff, who grew up as a punk in Hamburg , came to study martial arts through arguments with neo-Nazis and through films by Bruce Lee .
After a short time he changed from the Yang style to a stay with the Wun Hop Kuen Do master Christian Wulf to the Chen style . His trips to competitions also took him to China, where he met Master Shen Xijing , a direct student of Grand Master Chen Xiaowang . Only after weeks of insistence was he allowed to take part in the teaching of the master. Jan was taken into the family and received intensive lessons from Master Shen Xijing.
After half a year of teaching, Master Shen Xijing handed his student in Chenjiagou over to Grand Master Chen Xiaowang, who then took over the further training, during which Jan Silberstorff was officially accepted into the Chen family. Thus, following tradition, he teaches in the 20th generation of the Chen family.
Together with Grand Master Chen Xiaowang, he founded the World Chen Taiji Association in 1994 and was authorized by the Grand Master to act and lead the World Chen Taiji Association Germany (WCTAG) as head of training. Jan Silberstorff is the main representative of the Chen style in Germany today . He teaches in Germany and other countries.
Jan Silberstorff is known to a larger audience in Germany through his lecture tours and courses. He also worked on the ARTE / ZDF documentary Tai Chi A Journey to the Sources of Power . He also campaigned for the establishment of the German umbrella organization for Qigong and Taijiquan eV .
