Obsinnich Castle

Remersdaal ( Walloon : Rèbiévå , French : Rémersdael , German : Reemersthal ) is a district of the municipality of Voeren , an exclave of the Flemish province of Limburg .

In Remersdael there was the castle "Hous" until the 18th century, which was inhabited by the lords of Remersdael. It belonged to the noble family of Barons von Fürstenberg .

The 13th century Obsinnich Castle (today Castel Notre Dame) in Remersdael belonged to the Lower Rhine noble family Eynatten and from 1721 to the Fürstenberg family .

The current church of St. Heribert was designed in 1871 by the architect Jean-Lambert Blandot (1835–1885) from Huy and inaugurated in 1879. (in French)

In 1963, with the application of the new language border regulations, the Voer villages of Teuven and Remersdael, which formerly belonged to the old Limburg bank of Montzen, were assigned to the Belgian province of Limburg.
