Remote ignition interrupt

Remote Ignition Interrupt , or RII for short , is an electronic safety system that can be triggered via a remote control and that interrupts the ignition electronics of an engine .

The system is mainly used on monster trucks in the USA to switch off the engine of a truck that has gotten out of control so that it cannot drive into the audience.

In order to guarantee the functionality, the safety system is checked before every race. The ignition can also be interrupted manually by the truck pilot using a button in the cockpit, or by the security staff using a pull cord at the rear of the truck if it is e.g. B. is on the side, triggered.
