A monster truck is a modified vehicle, usually an off-road vehicle , pickup or van , that stands out for its oversized tires and high engine power . Monster trucks are mainly shown at show events in the USA and have names such as Grave Digger , Bearfoot , Snakebite , El Toro Loco , Ghostrider or Monster Mutt . In 1974 Jim Kramer built the first Bigfoot 4x4 monster truck from a Ford pickup .

run

Under the commercial United States Hot Rod Association (USHRA) races are held and marketed under the name Monster Jam in the USA, Canada and Europe. In a typical show, short races are run over a built-up cross-country route, with old cars forming an obstacle over which the trucks “jump”.

Freestyle

In freestyle, the trucks drive freely through the arena. They jump, do wheelies (driving on the back wheels) and destroy buses, caravans, cars, small yachts, shipping containers or minibuses. Depending on the race result (last first, best last), the riders ride one after the other in freestyle. The judges are spectators from the audience, they can award points from 1–10, which are added together. The truck with the highest score wins.
