René Muñoz

René Muñoz (born February 19, 1938 in Havana , † May 11, 2000 in Mexico City ) was a Cuban actor and screenwriter .

Life

Born in Cuba, Muñoz made his debut in the Spanish film Fray Escoba by Ramón Torrado in 1961 . After a few more films, he moved to Mexico, where he appeared in numerous telenovelas . From the late 1980s he wrote for these formats himself, including the first series aimed at a young audience, Quinceañera , from which the star status of the actors Thalía and Adela Noriega derive. In 1992 he wrote De frente al sol for Angélica Aragón and other projects. He was also active as an actor until his early death from cancer.
