The Renard R-42 was a project for a fighter aircraft by the Belgian aircraft manufacturer Alfred Renard .

history

The Renard R-42 was after the R-40 Renard's second aircraft to be equipped with a pressurized cabin . It was based on the R-40 , but had a double hull. It was thus similar to the American North American F-82 and the double-hull version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 . The Renard R-42 should also be equipped with an ejection seat . Although the design was very modern, the Belgian government showed no interest and no prototype was made. When the Second World War broke out , Renard tried in vain to bring the plans to France to safety.
