Renegade was an Australian thrash metal band from Melbourne that was formed in 1983 and split up in 1988.

history

The band was formed in 1983 by drummer Mick Scott, bassist Steve Scott and guitarist Hummed Osman. After the latter had no contact with the band for a few months, Ron Cartledge joined the band for him. After the band had developed the first songs, appearances followed along with Nothing Sacred and Depression. In 1985 the band recorded a demo that included four songs. After Johnny got feedback on the band, the band's first and only album, Total Armageddon, was released in 1987. Feedback left the band towards the end of 1987, so ex-Depression bassist Richard Liddy played guitar. Towards the end of 1988 the band broke up again. The album was re-released in 2006 and 2011 through Toxic Records , Thecoffinslave Records, and Iron Bonehead Productions .

style

The group is one of the earliest Australian thrash metal bands, with the music reminiscent of classic bands of the genre such as Slayer .
