ResEdit

ResEdit ( Res ource Edit or ) is a computer program the company Apple , the so-called resource forks of computer files to edit. ResEdit is one of the standard tools of program developers under Mac OS (to 9) , the classic operating system of the Macintosh .

In the Macintosh's HFS file system , the computer files consist of a so-called data fork and a resource fork . The resource fork is used to record sounds, images, texts and other elements. This has the advantage that, for example, when a computer program is localized for translation, not the actual program code but only the resource fork has to be changed.
